“We’re off to a good start!”

We can now name the real issues. We find synergy in our work. We build on our balanced strengths. We create a clear mode of operation, but one that allows flexibility to grow. We remain curious to learn from each other. We are less afraid to face obstacles together. We pay attention to the human and professional aspects of our relationship. Together, we form a shared vision for the self-determination of Indigenous Peoples!

At this point, reflexes are cultivated and a mode of operation is established, particularly that of validation and concerted action. It becomes clear that in every project, we aim for co-creation with Indigenous Peoples and that the means necessary to enable this priority are known in advance.

However, the learning mode will always be in place because there will always be new things to explore on the path to reconciliation.

This page, generated from the collaborative experience of La Boîte Rouge VIF, provides an overview of the main elements of project follow-up and evaluation that can help you stay on track.

Here are also some videos gathered in the Indigenous Voices of Today exhibition at the McCord Stewart Museum that demonstrate some inspiring practices of collaborative approaches in action. The creator of this exhibition, Élisabeth Kaine, also played a crucial role in establishing the UNESCO Chair in Cultural Transmission among Indigenous Peoples as a dynamic of well-being and empowerment, as summarized in this inspiring video.
